Just a lazy word, from the bottom of my heart, to thank you all for the late DD, for your comments, for adding me to your watchlists !

I've never been so busy which means I'm a bit short on time for DA, for you all. It's the first time I don't answer all the comments I get. But I'm on other fields right now. I know it's a shame but, web wise, it's a Facebook socializing time (aside from my job as an intern lawyer, my friends and washing my cloths... ;))

Anyway, I sometimes post photos on FB, quite different from what I post here. For the interested ones among you, you'll find me there under my complete name: William Rappard. For the french speaking ones, I also write some articles there... which eats even more time !

I'm looking forward to knowing you more ! Cheers !

Hi All !

First of all, I have to repeat my apologies for not following your work these last months… I have more than 8k pics in my watchlist and it would require hours to watch them all the way they deserve… Thanks for not forgeting me during this time !

So, here’s a little update about me. As some of you know, I spent 6 months in Zurich from September 2007 till February 2008. It’s been a tough time. I found my limits there. Too far away from my friends, family… And on top of this, I was not used to endless work hours. Which left me no time for anything else than depression.

I went through a lot of questionning since then about pretty much everything from my professionnal life to my love life and… guess what, I’m now going through a nice big therapy ! Excellent shrink thanks God ! Things are better now.

Since I came back from Zurich, I have been working for two months in a supermarket, collecting fruits and vegetables and disposing them on the shelves ! Excellent experience which helped me clean up my internal mess a bit!

I now doing my legal internship in Geneva which will last for two years until I can pretend to be a real lawayer. I began this in a small lawfirm ruled by two patners who really have their own vision of management. Besides my not always easy relationship with them, my colleagues are great ! Nevertheless, I found another lawfirm to continue my internship. Seems way better than my current one so cross fingers. I begin beg. November. Still eighteen months to go until the bar exam.

Photography wise, I’ve also been through a lot of questionning. It is, of course my passion and I long wondered if it could also be a career in replacement of law. Let’s say it clearly, law isn’t, by far, as exciting as photography (except for some very few moments). However, I still have to improve a lot in photography to be able to pretend earning my living with it. Nevertheless, I’m currently working on an exibition project. It’s about street photography of people’s legs. I noticed, going through the roughly 30'000 pics I shot so far, that I often focus on people’s legs. You can find many examples in my DA gallery. Therefore, I decided to collect these pics, unify them and build a portfolio on this matter. When I’ll be happy with the results, I’ll begin showing it around and, who knows, maybe some gallery will find it interesting enough to exibit it ! The first selection is available for advices on my facebook page. Look for William Rappard.

I just wanted to apologize to all of you becouse I've not been active at all since a while. I have more than 4k pics of yours to watch and love but I just can't these times.

I'll make a long story short but for many reasons, I've lost most of my energy in the last few months. Lots of questionning in my life. Nothing terrible, don't worry but I'm just not so much in the mood for photography. Still shooting a bit and I may post again sometimes. Looking forward to it though !

Many thanks to all my watchers (old and new) for the favs, the features, the support, the gentle words. You are the best !

Ok. Maybe you don't give a fuck about what will follow given what will follow are the last two months of my life. Those of you who will get to read this entry, please skip it if you have no interest about my life. This entry will show no feature as I've faved thousands of pic since my last journal so, being utterly lazy, I will kindly ask that you go check my favs and dive deep in them. --- Chapter One: First Contact ---

My first contact with Switzerland biggest city (population 1.5m ) was more transportation related than city itself. I spent many hours in my car or in a train (whitch is actually the same in my everyday life nowadays). No wonder I have many road shots. I made two trips for interviews in 3 days. One by car during which I discovered tunnels were cool:




and gas stations as well:



And railway and tain stations can be cool too:




--- Chapter Two: People from Zurich, street walks, back from work ---

Interviews went fine... bla bla bla... And here I come to Zurich. Ten days without working to discover my new home town. A long long walk through the city and only a few images posted... However, I shot hundreds of images and many would/might sometimes be included in what has now become more a diary than a journal.

Some people, tired poeple, magicians, walkers, people waiting, people chilling, trying their luck, opening doors, pizzaiolo's, sleeping, reading... Just people... from Zurich.

--- Chapter Three: The Visitors ---

Cool thing when you work "abroad" but not really are friends' visits. Luckily, many friends came to visit me for week ends. Crazy nights (sometimes too crazy...), lots of drinking, I even attracted two good friends of mine to photography. They both braught bridge cams over the week end ! ;) Unfortunately, I didn't post pics of all of them.

The Lany's are in love (as everyone knows sooo well!...):




And my dear :icondcmprod: came during his military duties with a bunch of funky swiss armee stuff including the best handcream (I kept it) I know.



--- Chapter Three and a half: The Big End of the Year Emptyness ---

I've been quite inactive on DA lately. My life in Zurich had been draining lots of positive photographic energy and having my gear spreaded between Geneva and Zurich does not help.... But, for those of you who have been worried, be reassured, I didn't disapear. Further, I got myself the dreamcam I've been looking for: the famous Nikon D300 which is an amazing piece of kit. However, ironicaly enough, I've been through a quite tough time and shot very few good pics with it so far... Inspiration is on the weak side but hopefully, it will be back in 2008. I decided I would take advantage of my lunch breaks to go out shooting and breeze some fresh air next year.

Last but not least (and partly late):

MERRY XMAS TO YOU ALL AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2008 !!

I hope the xmas family dinners have not been too boring and wish you amazing parties for new year's eve ! Don't forget to drink at least some water between two bottles of champain in order to begin 2008 with a bearable headache (I would not expect miracles here... hangovers are part of the fun!)
